US SPRINGFIELD 1873 45/70 GOVT. Single Shot Rifle, 33" Barrel, Fair Condition, Dark Bore, Tight Action, sn:NSN This infantry rifle showcases the distinctive trapdoor breechblock design adopted by the U.S. military following the Civil War. The walnut stock displays the characteristic straight-wrist configuration standard for the period. Two barrel bands secure the forend, with the rear sight mounted on the barrel. The lockplate carries the expected Springfield markings. Features a ladder-type rear sight, blade front sight, and curved steel butt plate. A handsome example of America's first standard-issue breechloader. FFL Required. (85260) (GSCH85)
