Rare WWII German Contract jhv G98/40 8mm Mauser Rifle – Matching Numbers (1943). Good condition, Normal Handling Marks. 24" Barrel. Shiny Bore, Tight Action Bolt Action . A highly desirable, historically significant German-contract military rifle manufactured in 1943 by the "jhv" code factory in Hungary (Fémszerelvény-, Fegyver- és Gépgyár) and offered in good condition. Chambered in the potent 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm) cartridge, this rifle features a 24-inch brushed blued barrel, a tight push-feed cock-on-close bolt action design, and a bright, shiny bore. A premier highlight for advanced Axis militaria collectors, this specimen boasts verified matching numbers across the receiver, floorplate, bottom metal, barrel bands, and the straight-grained wood stock. The firearm is well-marked throughout, displaying crisp, historical German Waffenamt stamps on the handguard, stock, barrel, and action. Mechanically complete, it is configured with an internal magazine featuring a removable baseplate, a trigger guard-mounted floorplate release, a blued bolt and turned-down bolt knob, a traditional flag-style safety, a metal buttplate, an attached cleaning rod, and a hooded barleycorn front sight.
