Gebrüder Merkel Side-by-Side Shotgun - 12 Gauge - 28" Böhler Stahl Barrels - 2¾" Chambers - SN: 41248 Up for auction is a classic Gebrüder Merkel side-by-side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge with 2¾-inch (70 mm) chambers and 28-inch Böhler Stahl fluid steel barrels. Manufactured in Suhl, Germany by the renowned firm Gebrüder Merkel, this shotgun represents the exceptional craftsmanship and engineering that have made Merkel firearms highly respected among sportsmen and collectors for generations. Built on Merkel's robust boxlock action, this shotgun features a Greener crossbolt locking system in conjunction with double underlugs, providing exceptional strength and durability. Additional features include double triggers, an Anson push-button forend, and premium Böhler Stahl barrels. The barrels are Nitro proofed for smokeless powder and joined using the traditional Weichlot (soft solder) method employed on fine European sporting arms.
