Murano Art Glass Sommerso Bird Sculpture

Updated August 7, 2026

This is a vibrant art glass sculpture of a bird, likely a swan or duck, crafted in the style of Murano glass. The piece features a clear glass body with internal swirls of red and blue, culminating in a golden amber head, beak, and tail feathers. The artist has skillfully captured the fluid motion of the bird, with its elegant S-shaped neck and splayed feet. The glass exhibits a high degree of transparency and a polished finish, typical of Italian glass artistry. The combination of bold colors and flowing form makes this a striking decorative object. The sommerso technique, where layers of glass are fused together, is evident in the distinct color separation within the piece.
