Basket. This lot features a pair of vintage ceramic figurines depicting two young children seated in ornate chairs, commonly referred to as 'Piano Babies'. The child on the left, a girl with a yellow bow in her hair, is holding a teddy bear. The child on the right, a boy, is engrossed in reading a book with 'A B C' visible on its cover. The figurines appear to be hand-painted with pastel colors, suggesting a mid-20th century origin, possibly from the 1950s or 1960s. The style is reminiscent of popular collectible figurines from that era, characterized by their charming, childlike expressions and detailed, albeit somewhat stylized, rendering of clothing and accessories. The chairs themselves are detailed with a scalloped edge and a light blue and pink finish, adding to their decorative appeal.
