18th century French coin scale, called a trebuchet, with a wrought iron beam, brass pans, & housed in a walnut wooden box. Includes a paper chart detailing coin weights. The case has 2 brass clasp closures & measures 6-1/2 x 2-1/4 ins. Used to verifygold & silver coins. Wear consistent with age is visible on the box & components.
