Oil on canvas, framed. Attributed to Armand Tatossian (1951 - 2012). The composition features a reclining nude figure, viewed from the back, resting on a surface draped in red fabric, against a backdrop of muted greens and blues that enhance the depth and intimacy of the scene. Signed A. Tatossian R.C.A. on bottom right corner and verso. Dated 2001. Tatossian, a Canadian-Armenian painter, was known for his ability to convey movement and emotion through his expressive application of paint, a technique influenced by the Quebec School of Canadian painting and the Group of Seven. His works, often executed en plein air, are celebrated for their vibrant color palette and dynamic compositions. Tatossian’s paintings are held in esteemed collections, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec, among others.
