Oil on canvas, framed. Attributed to Gertrude Abercrombie (1909–1977). Depicting a surreal coastal landscape with a female figure in an orange dress standing before a pale spectral form supporting an owl with outstretched wings, set near a red Victorian house under a bright sky, the composition reflects Abercrombie’s mature dream-state vocabulary, defined by sparse staging, symbolic animals, and psychologically charged stillness.
