This is a vintage Argus C3 35mm film camera, the boxy rangefinder often nicknamed the brick, fitted with the Argus 50mm f/3.5 Cintar coated lens. It comes in its original brown leather field case with shoulder strap, and the photos show the matching snap on lens cap. The camera body is in very good condition with clear engraved dials for the rangefinder, shutter speeds and aperture, and the lens glass looks clean in the photos. The leather case shows honest age with worn edges and scuffing but stays intact and holds the camera well. The Argus C3 was made in Ann Arbor, Michigan from the late 1930s into the 1960s and is one of the most recognized American 35mm cameras among collectors and students of vintage photography. Working condition has not been tested. Complete examples with the Cintar lens and leather case commonly sell in the range shown below. Estimated Value: $30 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
