This is a vintage Catholic religious lot centered on a wooden Sick Call set, also known as a Last Rites set. The standing set has a dark wood crucifix with a gold colored figure of Christ and an INRI scroll, mounted on a base with two candle holders that hold beeswax candles, plus an embossed glass bottle marked Holy Water. The crucifix lifts out to reveal a hidden compartment holding cotton, and the original printed instructions are included. Also in the lot are two vintage Holy Bibles, one a white padded memorial Bible reading With Deepest Sympathy U.P.I.U. Local 765 that sits in a handmade cedar box carved with Holy Bible on the lid, and the second a large cream family Bible with a gold Madonna design. A vintage metal rosary with aged patina rounds out the group. Condition is good and honest throughout, with dust, age wear, candle use, and some verdigris on the rosary chain. Sick call sets alone often sell for thirty to fifty dollars, and the added Bibles and rosary increase the appeal. Estimated Value: $40 to $75 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is.
