This lot features a 1916-P Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar from the Philadelphia Mint. As the first year of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar series, this coin represents the beginning of one of the most iconic designs in American numismatic history. Minted from 1916 through 1947, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar was designed by Adolph A. Weinman and features Liberty walking toward the rising sun on the obverse. Composed of 90% silver, these half dollars are highly collected for their classic design, historical importance, and precious metal content.
