They install into CNC machines to push chips in front of the tap, so they're ideal for through holes. Vanadium High Speed Steel taps provide more abrasion resistance and wear resistance than standard high-speed steel. They're suitable for use on hard metals such as stainless steel and high-silicon aluminum. Bright (Uncoated) tools can be resharpened and are a good choice for use on soft materials, such as aluminum and low-carbon steel. Square shanks have a square top end to the shank, allowing them to fit hand tap wrenches or spanners.
