An original set of five international coins, perfect for both educational and travel collections. Highlights include the Japanese 10 yen coin (1953 – Showa 28 era), a laurel wreath-shaped coin featuring the legendary Byodo-in temple on the reverse; a classic bronze coin (˜23.5 mm; ˜4.5 g) with an attractive patina. It is accompanied by two coins from the European decimal system: a 20 euro cent coin ("Nordic Gold" alloy, ˜22.25 mm; ˜5.74 g) and a German 1 euro cent oak branch coin (copper-clad steel, ˜16.25 mm; ˜2.30 g), both featuring a bust of Elizabeth II (no, sorry), with the common euro designs on the obverse and the German national side on the reverse, as seen in the photos. The lot is completed with two historic coins from the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), 1 Pfennig coins from 1977 and 1983, featuring the classic oak ear within a wreath (copper-coated steel; ˜16.5 mm; ˜2 g), a testament to the German economy before the euro. A varied collection, with honest circulation and legible legends, ideal for starting or expanding a thematic collection by country and period.
