Castilla & Lake Titicaca, Original Banknotes. Two original Banco Central de Reserva del Perú banknotes of 100,000 Intis, dated December 21, 1988 and December 21, 1989. Obverse: Portrait of Ramón Castilla, President of Peru, remembered for abolishing slavery and implementing key reforms in the 19th century. National coat of arms at center. Reverse: Engraving of Lake Titicaca, with traditional reed boats and Andean scenery. Serials: A9824851F (1988) and A0133721I (1989), as shown. Condition: Circulated with folds and handling wear, yet with good preservation of color and design. Overall collectible condition (see photos). Notes: High-denomination Intis notes are considered significant pieces of Peru’s late 20th-century monetary history. Increasingly sought after by world paper money collectors, both for their design and their connection to Peru’s hyperinflation era. A strong addition to any serious collection.
