Struck from 3/4 troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, the 2012 3/4 oz Canadian Silver War of 1812 Coin commemorates the 200th anniversary of a pivotal conflict in North American history. Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, the coin's reverse features a central heraldic shield bearing a maple leaf, flanked by a English Lion on the left and an American Eagle on the right—representing the coalition of British forces, Canadian militia, First Nations allies, and American forces involved in the conflict. The obverse displays Susanna Blunt’s classic portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II alongside its $1 (CAD) legal tender denomination. With a standard 38 mm diameter and ultra-pure silver content, this distinctive fractional piece offers excellent liquidity, rich historic symbolism, and official government backing.
