An antique Chinese elmwood rice measure of tapered square form featuring hand-forged iron strapping and a lattice grid base. Height: approximately 16 inchesBase width: 21.5 inchesTop opening width: 4.5 inches.Item shows significant historical wear consistent with age and provincial use, including deep corrosion and pitting to the ironwork. The wood panels exhibit prominent vertical shrinkage cracks, scattered chips to the edges, and overall weathering with accumulated residue in the crevices.
