This is an official brass wall plaque of the Brasão de Armas do Município de Aveiro (Coat of Arms of the City of Aveiro, Portugal). It features an eagle, wings outspread, charged on the breast with the national arms escutcheon, stylized heraldic shield with five dots flanked by a sun and crescent moon, topped by a 5-towered mural crown- all within an ornate scrolled cartouche frame. It carries the official stamped marking confirming the maker on the reverse; Paula Dias & Filhos L.da (Fundicao Aveirense) Age: Plaque design adopted in 1960 - this example 1960-80 Condition reflects patina, casting style, and maker's mark consistent with this era.
