This Bronze sculpture is a vintage reproduction after the Flemish-Italian Mannerist sculptor Giambologna 1529-1608 around 1580, in Florence, Italy. It depicts in intricate csting detail/finish, Merecury/Hermes(Greek) in a dynamic pose balanced on one foot atop the breath of Zephyr (the West wind, represented as a puffing face on the marble base, with a winged helmet (pestasos), winged sandals (talaria). The figure is shown in mid-flight pointing upward in a spiraling contraposto pose emphasizing motion and grace. Age: Late 19th century-Renaissance period Origin: Italy or France - possibly Barbedienne Foundry in France Cast: Lost wax method Condition: Exceptional, Aged dark patina consistent with age, no chips, scratches, or damage
