Vintage Tibetan Wall Hanging / Mask Vintage Tibetan Wall Hanging / Mask, featuring multiple Mahakala faces. It is crafted from carved wood, featuring intricate details of fierce deities. These masks are used in ritual contexts in Himalayan Tantric Buddhism to represent protection and the transformation of negativity. The bird featured at the very top of the carving is Garuda (also known as the Dapeng Golden-Winged Bird), a powerful mythical deity found across Hindu and Himalayan Buddhist traditions. Garuda is the king of birds and an apex guardian. Placed at the highest point of a sacred object, he acts as a supreme shield against lower harmful entities, negative energies, and spiritual poisons.
