Vintage Japanese Lacquer Boxes Lot of 4 vintage / antique Japanese lacquer boxes. The two matching boxes feature a distinctive diagonal split design showcasing sparrow birds on both an orangey red mottled lacquer and a black lacquer ground. The boxes have some wear to the orange lacquer, peeling at corners and other wear as shown in photos. Both pieces are signed on bottom. The smaller rectangular lacquer box has a hand painted figural motif (some wear) representing a traveler? and also included is an hexagonal laquer box featuring a scenic mother-of-pearl inlay.
