Japanese Phoenix Dragon Ginbari Vintage / Antique Japanese Meiji? Period Phoenix & Dragon Cloisonné Ginbari Matching Vases with Silver Rims & Bases. Ginbari is a specialized Japanese enameling technique (often associated with cloisonné) where artists apply translucent enamel over an embossed or stippled silver foil base. This method allows light to reflect off the textured foil underneath, creating a distinctive shimmering effect and incredible depth. Developed originally in Japan and popularized during the Meiji Period (1868–1912), the term "ginbari" literally translates to "silver foil". Unmarked. Please see photos for more details 6"h x 3" diameter each
