Shore Instrument Scleroscope Hardness Tester Vintage Shore Instrument Scleroscope #6075D Hardness Tester in original dovetail wooden box. Heavy! This would have been used as a dynamic indentation hardness test using a calibrated instrument that drops a diamond-tipped hammer from a fixed height onto the surface of the material being tested. The height of rebound of the hammer is a measure of the hardness of the material. Untested, includes a letter from Shore Instrument regarding an inquiry into replacement parts.
