Vern Hippensteal, born September 6, 1948, in Sevierville, Tennessee, is a Gatlinburg-based artist with a career spanning over five decades. His work focuses on the subtle moods and timeless beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, rendered through transparent watercolor to evoke a poetic sense of the region's landscapes.
