Nice antique British bone china plate with a relief molded basketweave border in turquoise enamel. Gold gilding along the edge and inner rim. Decorated with a hand painted maritime scene depicting men in small boats near a shipwreck with a town and castle in the background. Impressed 10 TF 72 in a diamond. This mark was used by Thomas Ford between 1871 and 1874. 10 72 is a date code for October 1872. Also has an impressed British registry mark with a date code for November 23 1871. Has wear to the gilding, some discolored spots in the turquoise border, and scratches, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches wide.
