This is a 5-ton BW170D vibratory roller from the Koehring/BOMAG compaction line, powered by a John Deere system running a Detroit Diesel Allison engine (Serial: 3D0166237). The BW170D is a well-known mid-size roller used for asphalt work, base preparation, road building, and industrial yard compaction. It features a wide front drum, rear traction tire, and straightforward mechanical controls. The machine shows normal wear from use but remains a solid, functional roller ready for work. The rear tires have some weather cracking, and a few of the hydraulic hoses show signs of it as well. The machine always starts, but occasionally the starter just clicks.
