The red gasoline can and grey AmeriGas cylinders represent two entirely different types of fuel storage, each requiring specific safety and handling procedures. While the red plastic container is built to hold liquid gasoline for small engines like lawnmowers, the high-pressure steel AmeriGas tanks are designed specifically to store liquified petroleum (propane) gas for grilling or outdoor heating. Because both contain highly volatile materials, neither can be thrown into standard residential trash bins; instead, the gasoline can must be completely emptied and aired out, while the AmeriGas tanks are best handled by being swapped for fresh fuel at a local retail exchange kiosk or brought to a hazardous waste facility. The collection is sold as is.
