Featured in this lot is this pair of Caribou antler without skull cap. The image showcases a matched pair of caribou (reindeer) antlers, highlighted by their unique sweeping C-shaped main beams and distinct palmated points. A defining characteristic of these antlers is the flattened, shovel-like brow tines near the base, which caribou naturally use to dig through snow when foraging for food. Unlike most other deer species where only males grow headgear, both male and female caribou grow antlers, making them truly remarkable structures of the animal kingdom. The antlers are sold as is.
