A Chinese baluster vase with a broad flared mouth has an extremely shiny, mirror black exterior glaze and a very white inner glaze. I love the contrast between the white interior and the shiny black outer exterior. The thick, shiny, and smooth black outer glaze on the heavy vase has good glaze control along the foot. The rounded and cut foot is unglazed and shows iron red lines from the firing process. The clay used is slightly off white. MEASUREMENTS 7 ¼" (18.4 cm) diameter x 13 ½" (34.3 cm) tall. Weighs 5 lbs 15.0 oz (2690 g) CONDITION There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The surface has only light scratches from wear and the foot shows wear. There are kiln flaws, such as black spots on the white, and pin holes to the black glaze. A great monochrome to add to a collection or use in the home décor. Period: Early 20th Century Origin: China Materials: Porcelain Dimensions: 7.25"W × 7.25"D × 13.5"H
