Antique Austrian Camel Cold Painted Cast Metal

A colorful antique, Anglo-Indian style, cold-painted cast metal figural camel inkwell. It has great details in the saddle. The cast metal figure of a resting camel has been cold painted with red, green, and brown. There is a hinged lid at the saddle top that flips up and would have held a ceramic or glass ink well. The inkwell has a good heavy weight. The base has a metal plate in the center. There are no marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 5 ¾ in (14.6 cm) long x 2 3/4 in (7.0 cm) wide x 3 ¾ in (9.5 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 4.4 oz. CONDITION The painted body of the camel is in good shape with a few paint losses mainly on the head and his left knee. There is white residue under the lid, and ink residue inside at the edge of where the ink insert would have been. The inkwell insert is missing.
