gouges/chisels and 1 Pfeil Swiss made gouge/chisel. These, according to Ai are made by Sculpture House and is an historic American art supplier based in New Jersey, they outsourced their steel blade manufacturing to specialized industrial toolmakers in Germany (such as Dastra) during the mid-to-late 20th century. The high-carbon German steel blades were then fitted onto their signature octagonal wooden handles and sold directly to the American market. Steel Quality: Woodworkers highly prize vintage German carbon steel because it handles heavy pressure and maintains a sharp edge longer than modern budget replicas. This is a nice collection, and these routinely sell for $30 each!
