Torque Wrench. Requires 3 AA batteries. Calibration date 12/30/2020. There does appear to be little black granules of some sort at first. I thought it was a defect or a break on the L. CD screen, but looking at it closer, it looks like its little black granules suspended in the clear protective display cover, and it appears that they're in the plastic itself and not on the lcd screen. It does still function with no problems, it only partially covers the battery level indicator.
