Bronze frog sculpture by Tim Cotterill, who signs his work Frogman, showing a long limbed blue frog stretched across a green leaf with a red caterpillar crawling through a hole chewed in the leaf. The frog is finished in a mottled cobalt and deep blue enamel patina with glossy black webbed feet tipped in polished bronze, and the leaf is enameled in layered greens with the veining cast in. The underside is incised FROGMAN, signed by the artist, dated 02, and numbered 363 of an edition of 5000, with black felt pads fitted to the base. Against the ruler the leaf runs about 11 inches long and the piece stands about 3 inches tall. Cotterill casts by the lost wax method in Vista, California, and the enamel patina is applied by hand with heat, which is why no two pieces from an edition look exactly alike. The signature, edition number and date are all clearly legible in the photographs. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
