This nocturnal seascape oil on canvas features churning waves breaking against rocky cliffs under a dark sky. The work is executed in a textured style with impasto highlights used to define the spray and moonlight reflecting on the water. A signature reading AMOS is painted in blue in the lower right corner. The stretcher verso bears a handwritten ink inscription of a quote by Marcel Proust regarding the real voyage of discovery. It is presented in a dark-toned rusticwooden frame with a gold liner. Frame measures 31.5 x 41.5 inches. The canvas and paint surface are in good condition with minor surface dust. The frame exhibits scuffs and finish loss along the lower edge and corners.
