This winter landscape is an oil on board painting by American artist John E. Berninger. The scene features the Game Preserve Bridge in Allentown, Pennsylvania, depicted in a cool palette of blues and whites with warm ochre accents. It is signed John E. Berninger in red at the lower right corner. The verso retains an original studio label for the artist at 1531 1/2 Turner St., Allentown, and is titled in script. The work is housed in a substantial multi-tiered wooden frame with a weathered grey-wash finish and a gold-toned inner liner. The painting and frame are in good overall condition with no visible craquelure or paint loss. The frame shows light wear and minor surface dust consistent with age.
