Stump Candle Figurine with Frog

Vintage Sonlight Candle Co. “The Stump Candle,” copyright 1971. Decorative novelty candle designed to resemble a tree stump, finished in cream, tan and muted pink and brown tones. Features molded bark lines, knots and cut-log details, with an open knot hollow on the front containing a small green frog surrounded by faux greenery and tiny white flowers. Primarily molded or hand-dipped wax, with a wax candle votive area recessed into the top. Decorated with artificial plastic foliage and flowers and a small green frog embellishment, likely plastic or similar molded material. Dimensions are approximately 4 1/2"h x 6"diameter. Fair pre-owned condition with noticeable age and use. The candle has been previously burned, with a shortened charred wick and wax residue and discoloration inside the top cavity. Exterior shows surface dust and soil, light scuffs, scratches, wax discoloration and general age-related wear. Some of the artificial foliage and flowers are dusty, aged and slightly bent or displaced. Bottom paper foil label has scratches, staining, edge wear with the original bottom label and burning instructions attached. No major breaks are visible. Overall, decorative form and frog detail remain intact.
