American Bisque "Circus Clown" cookie jar

Updated October 23, 2026

This is a vintage American Bisque "Circus Clown" cookie jar (often cataloged as model #126-A), produced in the 1950s. Some listings from the era also attribute this mold style to APCO (Associated Pottery Co.), which operated under close production overlaps. This delightful mid-century design features a plump, full-bodied clown with his hands resting gently on his belly. He is decorated with a ruffled clown collar, colorful hand-painted polka dots, red clothing patches, orange shoes, and a small black hat that serves as a handle on the head-shaped lid.
