This pair of square decorative ceramic plaques features stylized architectural views of the city of Suzdal, Russia. The designs are executed with raised black outlines and colored glazes in tones of gold, red, white, and gray. One plaque includes the Suzdal coat of arms, a falcon on a red shield, and the city name in Cyrillic, СУЗДÐЛЬ (Suzdal). The second plaque depicts a dense arrangement of ecclesiastical domes within an arch, flanked by two lion-head motifs in the upper corners. The reverse of one plaque bears an original printed paper label from the Art Fund of the RSFSR, Moscow Regional Branch, Art Workshop No. 1, located in Orekhovo-Zuyevo. Handwritten details on the label include the title Суздаль (Suzdal), article number Ð¥/то 510, and a price of 2-35 rubles. A green retail sticker for the Beriozka (Березка) store is also present. Both pieces are set in square wooden frames with a distressed gold finish and are backed with a floral pattern textile. Dimensions measured against a ruler: H approx. 6 inches x W approx. 6 inches (each frame). Condition: The plaques are in good overall condition. The wooden frames show some minor surface wear and rubbing to the gilded finish.
