C-22336

Oil on canvas mountain landscape signed Backmann, depicting dramatic alpine peaks, evergreen forest, lakeside cabin, and reflective water, executed with heavy palette-knife texture characteristic of mid-20th-century decorative landscape painting. This painting is circa 1960s.

Painting shows areas of cracking, lifting, and pigment loss, particularly within the heavily textured lower left foreground. Canvas reverse bears a German stamp and is mounted to a stretcher marked as made in Brazil; penciled notation on the reverse possibly reads 2/13/62. Paper backing is substantially torn and incomplete. Wood frame shows surface wear; frame joints remain tight.

28" L x 26" H
