Hearts Male Court Figure Plaid Back. Single antique-style European playing card displaying a double-headed male court figure in side profile, with a red costume, yellow ornamental trim, green waist sash, and feathered hat. Two large red hearts identify the suit, while the reverse features an evenly printed green diagonal plaid design matching the other examples in the auction. The illustrated character and simple outlined border reflect traditional continental playing-card graphic traditions, tentatively late nineteenth or early twentieth century, although this individual card is unsigned and its exact rank, publisher, and date are unverified. Offered for collectors of antique cards, costume imagery, and historical printed ornament. Age shows in even warm toning, small scattered specks, surface and corner rubbing, and wear at the rounded edges. The figure may have decorative crossover appeal to contemporary buyers, but it should not be cataloged as originally LGBTQ-themed.
