The crossguard is stamped with 2nd 70424 indicating Australia's 2nd Military District (New South Wales). Designed for use on the Short Magazine Lee- Enfield No. 1 Mk. III rifle. It is in food condotion with signs of heavy wear and some markings from bad sharpening. Appears to be complete and functioning. See photographs for detail and condition.
