Toomey & Co. will auction nearly 250 lots in Great Estates on September 3rd. This recurring series is a truly eclectic showcase, with fine and decorative arts, sculpture, pottery, lighting, silver, glass, textiles, period furniture, and more. Featuring works by artists and designers from across the globe produced in recent centuries and earlier, this sale highlights the history of ornamentation and draws from notable sources. The present offering includes several Inuit sculptures from the estate of American bond trader, art collector, and multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Morton Swinsky. Likewise available are various custom furniture examples by Elsie de Wolfe from the Greene & Greene-designed Mortimer Fleishhacker House, or Green Gables Estate, south of San Francisco, sold to benefit the Elsie de Wolfe Foundation.
