Oliver's Auction — August Gallery Sale Fine Estates, Southern Folk Pottery & The Pate Cat Collection, Part II Bidding opens Thursday, August 13 and closes Sunday, August 23, 2026. Over 620 lots of American and European antiques, fine art, and folk pottery from Southern estates. Highlights include Stickley Cherry Valley and Mission cherry furniture; a Merton Gershun Bali-Hi credenza for American of Martinsville; an early 19th-century Scottish flame mahogany longcase clock; a Carl Philipp Weber watercolor; a French Louis XV bonnetiere and 19th-century marquetry armoire; and a Louis XV style kingwood cylinder desk. The Southern pottery offering is deep this sale — Marvin and Lynn Bailey face jugs and figures, Little Mountain Pottery, C.B. Craven, Wheeler, Wild Rose, and a rare 1903-dated Van Briggle vase. Part II of the Pate Collection brings more than one hundred lots of feline fine art and pottery, including Louis Wain chromolithographs, signed Sheila Horton etchings, a Clifford Hall oil, Highland Stoneware, Royal Doulton Souter "Kateroo," and Joyce Morgan for Chelsea Pottery — alongside Martin Dain photographs of William Faulkner at Rowan Oak and a strong art reference library.
