The California Riviera Auction celebrates a century of creative energy that has shaped, and been shaped by, artists across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The sale spotlights Los Angeles's own creative lineage, from the artists who defined its Midcentury movement to those carrying it forward today. Dan Lutz, who taught at USC and Chouinard Art Institute and helped define that movement, is represented by two works. Contemporary LA talent is equally strong: Santa Monica-born, LA based Tim Biskup, a leading figure in the city's pop-surrealist scene, has five mixed media pieces in the sale, and Pasadena ArtCenter College of Design faculty member Esther Pearl Watson is featured across five lots. It's a rare chance to bring home a piece of LA's own art history, many with accessible opening bids. The sale's reach extends well beyond Los Angeles. Prints by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Man Ray, and Erte sit alongside a rich selection of California and West Coast painters, while sculpture highlights include bronzes by Italian master Angelo Biancini, a Dale Chihuly blown glass Bonfire Basket, and a Felipe Castaneda white onyx nude. Beyond the artwork, the sale is packed with pieces to transform any home: a Steinway & Sons baby grand piano, a curated mix of Midcentury and designer furniture, including Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs and Lulu and Georgia accent pieces, and standout jewelry with 18K gold designs from Brooke Gregson, H. Stern, and Ten Thousand Things. Full catalog and bidding: view on liveauctioneers .
